How much does the first hour of every day matter? As it turns out, a lot. It can be the hour you see everything clearly, get one real thing done, and focus on the human side of work rather than your task list.

Remember when you used to have a period at the beginning of every day to think about your schedule, catch up with friends, maybe knock out a few tasks? It was called home room, and it went away after high school. But many successful people schedule themselves a kind of grown-up home room every day. You should too.

  1. I concur with you Rohit, It just seems like Indians have a prbeolm to dream, to believe, to strive towards a goal. To add to the misery as you rightly put it there is no support whatsoever. VCs in India are either too risk avert or can’t see far. Its very apparent they invest only in proven businesses and can’t envision the future and promote it. Moreover there are not many angels or VCs who could actually guide a early stage startup. One can argue if a team cannot drive on its own why start, but hardly any successful company has been built completely from competency in-house. India lacks people who can mentor, help or connect you. There are few extremely successful individuals who could be very good advisors but you can pretty much say they are in hibernation or in extremely closed networks. The scene is not going to change in India easily unless people feel the urge to give back .
